GROOMING SERVICES

Pawsitivity prides itself on offering affordable, kennel-free grooming for your pet. In order to keep a stress free, safe environment for your best friend, I groom one-on-one by appointment only. Each pet is given a specific time based on breed and weight.

Because each pet is an individual and requires a different amount of time to be completely groomed, prices will vary. A price range can be given prior to your first grooming based on the services you are requesting; however, I cannot give you a solid quote until I actually see your pet.

SHED-LESS TREATMENT

Deshedding is a two-part process that can be added to any bath. Many pets shed continuously throughout the year, while others may “blow” their coat seasonally. However, a deshed treatment can help keep your house from being overrun by drifts of hair in every nook and cranny. In addition, there are a couple of health benefits of deshedding. For dogs, it removes some of the hot, dense undercoat which can help them stay cooler during steamy summers.

The first part of the treatment is bathing in a specially-formulated shampoo and conditioner which loosen the hair that will naturally fall out during shedding.

Both products are non-drying and hypoallergenic, so they are still gentle on the skin while strengthening the hair shafts and follicles, which reduces the amount of shedding after the treatment. First the shampoo, then the conditioner are massaged into the coat and allowed to sit for a few minutes.

The second part of the treatment commences after your pet is fully dried.

Specialized tools aimed at deshedding and removing undercoat hair efficiently and painlessly are used to deshed your pet. A comb with specialized teeth is used to comb out the loose hair until no more comes out. Unlike “thinning” human hair, the comb does not cut or damage the dog coat. The result is a shiny, healthy coat.

You can expect this treatment to reduce shedding by 60-80% after the first treatment. You may experience some shedding of the loosened hair over the first 12-24 hours after you take your pet home.  For extended and continually improved results, the treatment should be repeated as recommended for the breed.

Pricing for this treatment is based on breed and the condition of your pet's coat, skin, its temperament, age, and grooming history. I will give you an exact cost at your pre-treatment consultation.

SCHEDULE

To schedule a phone consultation before booking your first appointment, please take time to fill out the information below. This will typically require a current picture of your pet being texted to me so that I can determine the length of time he or she may take to be groomed as well as give you an approximate price estimate.

For the safety of the pets in my care, I do not answer the phone while grooming. In addition to taking care of fur kids, I take care of human kids during the week! From 8am-4pm on weekdays I am a middle school teacher and often groom immediately after school, so finding a time to return phone calls in a timely manner is not always possible.

FOR THE FASTEST RESPONSE, PLEASE LEAVE A PHONE NUMBER WHERE TEXT MESSAGING IS POSSIBLE. If it is not possible, please indicate so on the form. Thank you!

Texting is the preferred way to set up yor appointment. Is the number provided able to receive texts?
